Raw Food Brownie (GF/DF/V/Paleo)
This Raw Food Brownie is life changing. Let me say it again.
Life. Changing.
First, it’s suitable for almost anyone. It’s gluten free, dairy free, grain free, plant based and raw vegan. Second, it only takes about 15 minutes to whip up. Third, it’s loaded in nutrients. The frosting is made of avocados. Yup, you heard that right: avocado frosting. And I promise your kids will never even know. Its absolutely incredible.
All you need is a few simple ingredients and a food processor.

Avocado Frosting
Now let’s talk about the avocado frosting for a minute. Holy WOW is it good. I mean, it tastes like store bought frosting but is 100% healthy and raw. The texture is unreal. Seriously cult-following good.
The key is getting a perfectly ripe avocado and using vanilla powder in the mix. If you haven’t purchased white vanilla powder before, it is a water extracted and dried powder that is 100% vanilla with no other additives. It tastes kinda like vanilla cake. I get mine on amazon. Just make sure its organic and there are no other additives.
I have noticed some recipes call for maple syrup or honey but I think these flavors are a bit strong for the frosting so I opted for agave syrup. I think it’s perfect and doesn’t take away from the rich fudgey flavor of the chocolate.
After a bit of trial and error, I think I have come up with the perfect frosting. It honestly makes the raw food brownie complete perfection. Please leave a comment below and tell me if you agree!

Next time, I think I’m going to double the batch because these babies were gone in less than 24 hours!

The Best Ever Raw Food Brownie
Ingredients
Raw Food Brownie
- 1 1/4 cup raw walnuts
- 10 Medjool dates do not substitute regular dates
- 1/3 cup cacao powder
- 2 tbs peanut butter
- 1 tbs coconut oil
- 1 tbs agave syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla powder
Avocado Frosting
- 1 large ripe avocado
- 1 tsp vanilla powder
- 1/4 cup agave syrup
- 1/4 cup cacao powder
- 1 tbs coconut oil
- 2 tbs cacao nibs optional, for topping
Instructions
- In a food processor, blend walnuts until finely chopped. Then add the remaining ingredients and pulse until a thick dough forms. Spread onto a parchment lined baking pan until even and about 1 inch thick (It makes about 5"x5" brownie so I pressed mine into 1/2 of a bread pan.) Place in the freezer while making the frosting.
- Clean the food processor. Then add all frosting ingredients. Pulse until smooth like frosting. Frost the top of the brownie. Top with cacao nibs if desired. Place in the fridge or freezer for the frosting to set. Cut into 9 squares.
