Pumpkin Chai Smoothie Bowl (GF/DF/Paleo)

Jump to Recipe

I had a dream about this. Not even kidding. I woke up brainstorming how to recreate the incredible Pumpkin Chai Smoothie Bowl of my dreams. And, ladies and gentleman, this is it.

It’s still hot here in Arizona and this smoothie bowl is the perfect transition between summer and fall. It’s cool and comforting at the same time. When I was a kid, I used to love to go to to the local smoothie shop and order a Chai smoothie which was basically banana, yogurt and powdered chai. That was the base of my vision, but of course I wanted mine dairy free, refined sugar free, gluten free and additive free.

That’s why I used a powdered Chai from Blue Lotus Chai, not to be confused with the chemical and sugar laden kind from Starbucks. It’s an actual organic chai tea that is dissolvable in liquids so you don’t have to worry about steeping anything. It is also free from gluten, sweeteners, fillers, dairy, additives, and is organic and non-gmo, I used the Roobios Chai, but I am sure all of their versions are delicious.

Banana is the base. Then I added some organic mashed pumpkin for that warm fall feel. A teaspoon of powdered chai is all I needed for a good spice flavor. I also threw in 2 scoops of vanilla collagen powder for some protein and flavor (my favorite is Primal Kitchen Collagen Fuel). Last but not least, I added about 1/2 cup of light coconut milk so that it would blend in my blender. I like mine thick so I can eat it with a spoon.

The best fall breakfast. Ever.

Of course, we all know what makes or breaks a smoothie bowl are the toppings and I have to say I nailed this one thanks to Nutsola’s Limited Addition Pumpkin Spice Superfood Mix. It is the perfect blend of nuts and spices that go seamlessly with this dish. And it is so good you could just eat is straight out of the bag. In fact, once my kids got a hold of it, they stole the bag and refused to share! If you want to try it for yourself head over here for a discount code you can use to get 15% off.

Collagen Protein

I use this protein a lot. In fact, I try to have a serving of it everyday. It’s easy to digest and won’t spike your blood sugar like some other protein powders will. Plus, there’s a load of health benefits associated with it. Want a quick list of the benefits to eating collagen protein? Click here. I like the brands Truvani and Primal Kitchen but there are a lot out there. Just make sure they are wild caught / grass fed and are not filled with additives or sugars.

And now for the recipe you’ve been waiting for!
