This salad is so simple and delicious, I’ve been making it on repeat over here for the past few weeks so I had so share! Homemade Acai Bowl (GF/DF/Vegan/Paleo)

Anyone else obsessed with the Acai bowls from Nekter? Me too. But they are typically all fruit and sugar and leave me starving an hour later. Plus they are expensive, especially when you are buying for yourself and your whole family. Hello $50 ice cream. LOL! That’s why I went on a mission to create a balanced, superfood loaded, acai bowl recipe at home. Superfood Ingredients I started with unsweetened acai packets I found at Trader Joe’s. Actually this was the inspiration for the whole thing. Then I added some frozen fruit for texture and flavor. The banana makes it creamy and smooth. The wild blueberries up the antioxidant value. Threw in some…

When you go to a restaurant and order coconut shrimp, you end up with a plate full of inflammatory industrialized seed oils, farmed shrimp and some unhealthy breading. But at home you can make them with nourishing ingredients, healthy unrefined coconut oil and the much superior wild caught shrimp. For a few more delicious sea food recipes and an explanation as to why I buy wild caught seafood check out these two posts: Sweet Potato Pasta with SautĂ©ed Shrimp Paleo Coconut Crusted…

    Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie (GF/DF/Vegan/Paleo)

Strawberry shortcake was one of my all time favorite desserts as a kid. My mom made them with sweet biscuits, fresh strawberries and loaded them with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Here I recreated my childhood favorite into a delicious and healthy smoothie. Introducing my Strawberry Shortcake Protein Smoothie. All real food ingredients, full of healthy carbs, fat and fiber to keep you full for hours. Same delicious taste without the blood sugar crash. The base is frozen riced cauliflower (I promise you can’t taste it) and frozen banana. Add in some almond or coconut milk for creaminess. A few scoops of Nuzest Protein Powder in Wild Strawberry to keep me full…
