Double Chocolate Protein Donuts (GF/DF/Paleo-ish)
These double chocolate protein donuts are so east to make, my 7 year old made them by herself. Twice! Because apparently 6 donuts isn’t enough for a family of four. LOL! These donuts are an almond flour base, loaded in healthy fats like coconut oil and have a fun protein packed addition: Vanilla protein powder. This make each donut have about 10 grams of blood stabilizing protein. A much better choice than your typical sugar and industrialized seed oil loaded donut shop donut. For the protein powder, I used Nuzest vegan pea based protein in Vanilla (use code “thenutramom” to save) but any vanilla or collagen protein should work in the recipe just…

Homemade Acai Bowl (GF/DF/Vegan/Paleo)
Anyone else obsessed with the Acai bowls from Nekter? Me too. But they are typically all fruit and sugar and leave me starving an hour later. Plus they are expensive, especially when you are buying for yourself and your whole family. Hello $50 ice cream. LOL! That’s why I went on a mission to create a balanced, superfood loaded, acai bowl recipe at home. Superfood Ingredients I started with unsweetened acai packets I found at Trader Joe’s. Actually this was the inspiration for the whole thing. Then I added some frozen fruit for texture and flavor. The banana makes it creamy and smooth. The wild blueberries up the antioxidant value. Threw in some…

Paleo Coconut Shrimp with Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce (Paleo/GF/DF)
We are going through a heat wave in Arizona and I refuse to turn on the oven. So out comes the super simple stovetop meals like this incredible paleo coconut shrimp. When you go to a restaurant and order coconut shrimp, you end up with a plate full of inflammatory industrialized seed oils, farmed shrimp and some unhealthy breading. But at home you can make them with nourishing ingredients, healthy unrefined coconut oil and the much superior wild caught shrimp. For a few more delicious sea food recipes and an explanation as to why I buy wild caught seafood check out these two posts: Sweet Potato Pasta with Sautรฉed Shrimp Paleo Coconut Crusted…
